About Michael

Michael Lam, with his bachelor and master degrees in Public Administration and Certified Career Development Practitioner (CCDP) qualifications, started his credentials in the employment services and vocational training field since 1990. Working as the Program Director of Employment Services at S.U.C.C.E.S.S., one of the largest immigrant serving agencies located in Vancouver, British Columbia, Michael strongly advocates labour market driven employment services and training programs in both funded and cost-recovery models. Michael works closely with the federal as well as the provincial governments to address skill shortage issues in Canada, and also represents S.U.C.C.E.S.S. on different boards and committees.

About Nazi

Along with a bachelor in Business Administration and Master’s Degree in Public Administration, Nazi is a Certified Human Resources Professional with over 7 years of experience in employment sector, project management, human resources, and policy development. She has experience working locally and internationally in profit and non-profit sectors. She has in depth experience working with Internationally Trained Professionals (ITPs) and has helped them in navigating credentialing process, exploring alternative career, employment counseling, and securing employment that fit their skills and interests. Nazi is currently Project Manager of Active Career Advancement Project: Pathways to Possibilities in Vancouver.

About Monica

Monica has been providing help to people in need for more than 10 years. She has been assisting clients with different issues including employment, disability and family in conflict. With a Bachelor in Psychology and a Diploma in Social Service, she has been focusing on working with immigrants by providing them the resources to assist them in finding their dreams in Canada. She takes a person-oriented approach where she helps people to find solutions that work for them and their unique circumstances. She is currently the Career Navigation Consultant for the Active Career Advancement Project in Vancouver.

About Saloua

Saloua has joined S.U.C.C.E.S.S. Employment Services in 2016. She has a Bachelor in Finance from Berkeley, and Bachelor in Marketing Communication and Certified in Private Law from Capitole University. She has an extensive background in delivering customer service and good knowledge of immigrants in Canada. Coming from France, she speaks French fluently as well as Moroccan. She is currently working as an Administrative Officer for the Active Career Advancement Project in Vancouver. She is currently pursuing some courses in Social Services.

About Brittany

Brittany comes to us with an HR and Organizational Development background. She is in the process of completing her Masters of Arts degree with a focus on Organizational Psychology. When Brittany is not at ACAP, she is finishing her thesis on the topic of Corporate Social Justice. Her prior experience includes working with a nonprofit in Ecuador developing training programs centered on volunteer management. She is passionate about developing organizations to become more human-centered and embrace culturally inclusive workplace environments. She is working as Work Place Consultant at Active Career Advancement Project in Vancouver.

About Sophia

Sophia comes to us with a strong marketing, social media, communication and sales background, working with clients domestically and internationally. Sophia is experienced working with Asian communities and she loves to help people from the bottom of her heart and would love to give hope and positive energy to people to build a brighter future. She is currently the Project Marketing Specialist for the Active Career Advancement Project in Vancouver.

About Marianna

Marianna joined S.U.C.C.E.S.S. Employment Services in 1997. During the past years, she has worked as a Program Assistant, Job Developer, Case Manager, Team Lead, Facilitator and Citizenship Navigation Consultant. In her roles, she helped immigrants with multicultural and diverse backgrounds with their career planning in Canada including setting career goals, choosing education and training, and connecting clients to secure employment that fit their skills and experience with local employers. Marianna held a BC Certified Career Development Practitioner (CCDP) designation. Currently, she is working as a Career Navigation Consultant at the Active Career Advancement Project in Vancouver.

About Winnie

Winnie joined S.U.C.C.E.S.S. Employment Services in 2014. She graduated from University of British Columbia with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Cognitive Science. During the past years, she has worked as a program assistant, job developer, facilitator and acting project manager. In her roles, she assisted youth clients and skilled immigrants with diverse backgrounds with their career navigation. Currently, she is working as a Career Navigation Consultant at the Active Career Advancement Project in Vancouver.

About Vanessa

Vanessa joined S.U.C.C.E.S.S.in 2010 with a passion to positively help people overcome personal, economic, and social barriers to achieve their life goals and to bridge educational gaps within our diverse communities. She has worked on a variety of projects focused on employment and settlement services, health education, and resource development. She graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology and Women's Studies from Simon Fraser University. She is currently the Project Coordinator/Career Navigation Consultant for the Active Career Advancement Project: Pathways to Possibilities in Toronto.

About Elena

Elena Fenrick has a Bachelor of Arts and a Master of Arts in Political Science from Memorial University, and a Certificate in Event Coordination from Lakeland College. Her M.A. thesis focused on settlement service provision, and she has had significant experience coordinating programs in newcomer-serving non-profit organizations in Alberta and Newfoundland. Elena enjoys helping individuals from around the world – a passion that began as a volunteer in Morocco. She is pleased to join the Active Career Advancement Project in Toronto as a Career Navigation Consultant, and is eager to assist clients as they identify and build their skills.

About Dunya

Dunya Mojadiddi has a Bachelor of Arts from McMaster University and a Master of Arts in Immigration and Settlement Studies from Ryerson University. Her M.A. thesis focused on the barriers Internationally Trained Professionals – specifically engineers – face to integrating in the Canadian labour market. Dunya has a strong passion in making a positive difference in people’s lives around the world.

About Ashika

Ashika Iqbal holds a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and a Post-Graduate Certificate in Human Resources Management. She also possesses a Certified Human Resources Professional (CHRP) designation, as awarded by the Human Resources Professionals Association (HRPA). Ashika has prior experience working with refugees and immigrants in St. John's, NL where she was responsible for various projects including language classes, employment, workshop development, volunteer management, and event planning. Ashika is currently the Work Place Consultant for the Active Career Advancement Project: Pathways to Possibilities in Toronto.

About Daisy

Daisy brings a diverse set of experiences working with people of all ages and backgrounds from within the non-profit sector since 2009. She has always been passionate about assisting people in recognizing their greater possibilities, both within themselves and beyond, and is grateful for the opportunity to join the Active Career Advancement Project as a Project Assistant. She greatly looks forward to spreading the word about this potentially life-changing initiative throughout Greater Toronto. Her educational background includes an Honours Bachelor of Business Administration and a post-graduate certificate in Teaching English as a Second Language (TESL).
